Bolo Haouz Mosque - iwan

Dating back to 1712, this mosque is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a key part of Bukhara's historic heart. Picture this: in the 1920s, under Bolshevik rule, it served as the city's Friday Mosque. The highlight? The stunning iwan, its slender wooden columns (added in 1917) supporting the roof of the summer prayer room. And the detail! The colored muqarnas are simply exquisite.
